Job vacancy Procurement Director - Building Materials

The hiring company is a manufacturer of Building Materials Headquartered in Saudi Arabia with operations across the GCC.

As a Procurement Director within our building materials company, your responsibilities will encompass the following strategic initiatives

• Develop and execute operational and tactical procurement strategies for the acquisition of both local and international goods and services relevant to our industry.
• Implement controls to monitor and regulate expenditures, particularly in areas such as logistics, ensuring cost-effectiveness and budget adherence.
• Lead the sourcing efforts for plant products/parts & services, administration products/parts & services, and align raw material procurement with category managers to ensure optimal supply chain efficiency.
• Manage procurement activities within designated goods and services categories in alignment with the company's overarching category strategy, while adhering to established policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and initiate targeted projects and initiatives across all levels of procurement operations.
• Negotiate favorable terms pertaining to local volumes, processes, quality standards, and pricing with suppliers, ensuring competitive advantage and value maximization.

• Degree in economics or technical field
• Minimum 5 years as procurement manager in industrial company
• Strong negotiation skills
• Accepts responsibility and is self-motivated
• Good understanding of technical issues in procurement
• Experience working in cross-functional teams
• Preferably experienced in Cement business and SAP
• Fluent in English
• Ability to handle ambiguity and conflicts
• Skilled in assessing supplier and market risks
