The ideal candidate will have familiarity with compressor overhauling, specifically reciprocating compressors, and the ability to troubleshoot a variety of electro-mechanical and electronic refrigeration controls.

Proficiency with leading refrigeration controller brands such as Danfoss, Carel, and Eliwell is essential, as is a familiarity with the refrigeration cycle applied to commercial equipment such as centralized rack systems, standalone condensing units, and plug-in cabinets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Display masterful skill in copper brazing, ensuring strong and durable connections.
• Execute tasks with clarity and precision, adhering to the guidelines given.
• Build good rapport with clients to understand their specific equipment needs.
• Skilfully read and interpret blueprints and electrical diagrams.
• Install and test climate control systems and refrigeration units to ensure they meet our high standards.
• Perform thorough testing of newly installed systems to confirm perfect functioning.
• Troubleshoot and fix any issues encountered with refrigeration equipment to minimize disruption.
• Maintain a fully stocked van to ensure that all tasks can be completed efficiently and safely during the initial visit.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding repair costs and suggest alternative solutions when typical components are not immediately available.
• Utilize your strong mechanical skills and excellent problem-solving abilities to deliver high-quality service.
• Install, repair, and maintain refrigeration equipment, ensuring minimal downtime for our clients.
• Follow all instructions and guidelines provided by the Service Supervisor and Service Management diligently.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Technical Education in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning: A formal vocational or technical education in refrigeration and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) is fundamental. This could be a diploma or certificate program from a vocational school, technical college, or community college.
• Hands-on Training: Practical experience through apprenticeships, internships, or on-the-job training programs, where candidates gained hands-on experience in refrigeration systems, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
• Knowledge of Refrigeration Systems: Understanding the components and operation of various types of refrigeration systems, including commercial cabinets, cold rooms, and compressor racks.
• Safety Training: Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
• Certifications: additional to the vocational diploma.
• Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to diagnose and fix issues with refrigeration systems is a key part of the job.
• Customer Service Skills: good communication and customer service skills are beneficial for this role.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with tools and equipment used in refrigeration repair and maintenance.
• Basic Computer Skills: For documenting services, managing inventory, and possibly handling digital control systems for advanced refrigeration units.
• Adaptability and Continuous Learning: The refrigeration field is continuously evolving with new technologies and regulations, so a willingness to keep learning is important.
• Driving License: possessing driving license and ability to conduct a medium size van is essential for this role.
